The new kernel was tested extensively by many people, who reported back in other bug reports. Nvr-900h dislike Kaffeine, but I think it is the best to start with, once you get it working, you can use other programs for DVB. I have had this working in Windows a while ago, but am having no joy in Ubuntu What can one do????

Using Totem's DVB daemon plug-in it will either tell me "no devices are present" or "the device has already been configured".
These tuner chips are popular items, and it is my opinion that something like that working straight out of the box proves Ubuntu is adoptable by many. This bug was originally filed against Ubuntu 8. I tried the kernel.
Your video will appear out of there. Today the required firmware is included in the package linux-firmware- nonfree which can be installed directly from the repositories. Restart and you will have dvb. Just plug the device in, plug in the composite cable, start playing a video, then run tvtimeit'll automatically switch the device to composite. BB code is On.
